SUNSET

There is an eruption of silence

When we witness the miracle

Of a sunset

A thundering absence of anything

Except you, me and the glorious sky

Golden clouds passing us by

With our faces tilted together

                        SUNSET RAINBOW                         

The rainbow curves into

the dying rays of the sun

near the close of the day.

The gold everyone seeks

was spread across the sky.

Near the end of the sunset rainbow

it was a glimpse of future days

when we will follow the fading sun

to that paradise that lays beyond

as we become particles

that will never fade in time,

the essence of every new day,

even as our mortal coil fades away.
